ADMIN SUPPORT - HOBART

 AWC have an administrative role available, to support the running of our office at Granton. If you are motivated, friendly and willing to take on duties required this role may suit you. It will be varied and include reception, data entry, HR and payroll support.

A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (in particular Word and Excel), experience working with accounting software packages and a minimum 5 years’ office experience is required.

You will need to show you can communicate and prioritise effectively, respond well to, and work to timeframes, stay on task and multi-task in a busy office environment.

A background in the construction industry and/or HR would be an advantage. The position is offered as three or four days per week, as well as relief work to cover leave periods.

CIVIL CONSTRUCTION FOREMEN 

Positions are available for foremen experienced in all aspects of civil construction. Previous experience in Department of State Growth work would be an advantage.

MULTI-SKILLED PLANT OPERATORS and CIVIL CONSTRUCTION WORKERS

Positions are available for Civil Construction Workers experienced in roadworks, subdivisions, pipe laying and plant operations, including excavator, roller, compactor and water cart operations.  A minimum of three years’ experience in the industry is preferable. An HR licence and any Vac Truck work experience will be highly considered. We expect you will have an enthusiastic, hands-on approach to your work and be a proven team player.

TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS

We are seeking experienced Traffic Controllers for immediate start. You will be a self-starter, hardworking and reliable. Positions will perform day-to-day activities for Traffic Management, including setting up and controlling traffic at the work site and completing traffic management records.  You must be able to work well within a team and have pride in your work.

Additionally, you will have:

  • the ability to keep up to date with traffic management guidelines & standards
  • familiarity with safety management systems, procedures, and risk assessments
  • the ability to identify hazards and minimise risks
  • be positive and cooperative in your dealings with clients, colleagues, and suppliers

COMMUNICATIONS CO-ORDINATOR / CONTENT WRITER - HOBART

We are seeking experienced Traffic Controllers for immediate start. You will be a self-starter, hardworking and reliable. Positions will perform day-to-day activities for Traffic Management, including setting up and control

AWC have a new position available due to expanding needs. This is an exciting opportunity encompassing all aspects of communications to promote AWC to diverse audiences. Working collaboratively with others to complete tasks and meet deadlines, the role will be varied.

Job responsibilities will include:

  • developing a content plan to develop the business profile
  • marketing role, working closely with the AWC team and assisting with briefing & implementing social media campaigns
  • developing and implementing PR and communication strategies
  • planning and coordination of project and company photography and digital media, including video shoots, which may include drone footage work
  • create and maintain employee CV’s, project profiles
  • preparing and coordinating company graphic design and content layouts, as required
  • source, write and prepare articles and content for websites, social media channels and internal communication documents, including managing the AWC website
  • provide editing, proof-reading and copywriting skills
  • preparing and writing company award submissions
  • supporting and implementing AWC’s style guide
  • undertake media monitoring as required
  • assisting project staff with tender documentation and submissions
  • other administrative tasks including assistance with project activations as required

Personal qualities and experience include:

  • you will be curious and pride yourself in delivering quality results
  • knowledge and proficiency in the use of graphic design, web-based publishing software and Microsoft office
  • qualifications in PR, marketing or communications, desirable
  • demonstrated experience in a communication, marketing or media/PR role or internship
  • exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • strong organisational skills with a high-level attention to detail
  • demonstrated ability to work autonomously and be proactive
  • demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
  • minimum 2 years industry experience (desirable)
  • a background in marketing or the construction industry, would be useful

The position is offered initially part-time or casually, with flexibility offered around hours worked.

CIVIL CONSTRUCTION SITE ADMINISTRATOR - SOUTHERN REGION

We are seeking to employ a Site Administrator. The role will be varied and involved with site project administration including environmental, quality and safety systems and activities.

If you are motivated and focussed on achieving team results this role may suit you. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, show demonstrated ability to self-manage, to achieve organisational requirements and ability to build rapport within all levels of the organisation.

You will need to show you can communicate and prioritise effectively, respond well to and work to timeframes and show attention to detail. A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (in particular Word and Excel) is required.

Ideally you will have experience in site administration and be interested in occupational health & safety. A background in the construction industry would be an advantage and the position may suit an individual who is looking for a change in career. The position is based in the Hobart area and some travelling will be required.
