MECHANICS

We are looking for mechanics with trade qualifications for our workshop team.

While the positions are based at our headquarters in Hobart, some of the work is conducted on our project sites.

What you will be doing:

  • Help service and maintain our extensive range of construction plant and equipment and our fleet of vehicles;
  • Diagnose and repair faults;
  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance tasks;
  • Maintain accurate records;
  • Work as part of our professional and experienced workshop team;
  • Help ensure our modern machinery is performing consistently and all necessary work is completed in a timely fashion.

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified mechanic;
  • Great attention to detail;
  • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Commitment to working safely and efficiently;
  • Good communication and teamwork skills;
  • heavy plant experience and/or auto-electrical qualification highly regarded.

WELDER

We have a vacancy for a welder to carry out maintenance on our plant and equipment and vehicle fleet as part of are looking for mechanics with trade qualifications for our workshop team.

The position is based at our headquarters in Granton in Hobart's northern suburbs. However, some work will be out on project sites.

What you will be doing:

  • Fabrication of new parts and repairs to metal components to a high standard;
  • Performing a range of welding techniques (mig, stick, tig, carbon arc gouging, ox/acetylene cutting);
  • Maintaining welding equipment;
  • Ensuring a safe working environment;
  • Collaborate as part of our professional and experienced workshop team to resolve technical issues.

What we are looking for:

  • Experienced welder with Welder or Metal Fabrication qualification;
  • Motor vehicle and forklift licence;
  • Dogging licence an advantage but not essential;
  • Someone who can be part of a team but also work independently;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Good work ethic;
  • Capacity to provide support and guidance on technical and other issues;
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications;
  • Commitment to working safely and efficiently;
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

PLANT OPERATORS 

We are looking for experienced plant operators for our southern team based in the Hobart area and our northern team in the Launceston region.

These full-time roles involve operating a variety of construction equipment including rollers, water carts and 10-yard trucks to support infrastructure projects across the region.

We are looking for someone with previous experience, ideally in civil construction.

What you will be doing:

  • Operate and maintain construction equipment such as rollers, watercarts and/or 10-yard trucks to high standards;
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant and machinery on construction sites;
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on the equipment as required;
  • Work closely with the construction team to complete projects on time and to specification;
  • Follow all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant experience, ideally in the civil construction industry;
  • Valid licences to operate the required equipment;
  • Strong understanding of plant and machinery maintenance and repair;
  • Commitment to working safely and efficiently;
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
